Plastic Injection Insert Molding

Injection insert molding (or also known as Over molding) is a manufacturing process for producing parts from both thermoplastic and thermosetting plastic materials over a metal fineblank or stamping.
 
Benefits:

• Strength of metal with features made out of plastic for sound dampening, guides and/or attachments.
• Visual components that uses the plastic to match the area the part will not be used. (Color and texture)
• Plastic can be used to integrate features for positional and automated assemblies like magnets molded into part.
